Online Book Clubs
The Friends of the Library are sponsoring an Online Book Club program! Here's how it works: Each day you are e-mailed a 5-minute portion from the selected book. During the week you can read 2-3 chapters and decide if you want to request the book from the library. Every Monday a new book is started. The 11 available clubs include:
The beauty of fiction lies in the privilege to live life through another’s skin, temporarily escaping our world yet safely re-entering reality again after the read. Our fiction book club lets you experiment with authors new and old; in worlds yet untested and untried.
The rich suspense, intertwined characters, thickened plot, and nearly missed clues will keep you coming back for more. Each week you’ll enjoy a new and exciting mystery by famous and just-getting-started authors.
Imagination fantastic, wonder and otherworlds, time travel and space continuums—you’ll find rich samples each week delivered direct via yesterday’s electronic fantasy medium (otherwise known today as email).
Come on, don’t be afraid. Ghosts…ghouls…dark things eerie and evil. Come sample a daily horror in our weekly picks—chosen with help from the Horror Writer’s Association. Horror books are featured every other week.
Candlelight… newfound passion… walks in the rain… a broken heart… rekindled romance… and of course, love—you’ll find these and many more tender ingredients in our weekly menu of Romance Books.
Good news! Enjoy our thought-provoking family-friendly daily selections that inspire, make joyful, occasionally sadden, relate to everyman, and cause one to reflect on our place in the cosmos. Join the club today.
Join us each week for nonfiction at its finest. We’ll taste a bit of politics, Americana, culture, people, places, philosophies, history, and more. This is real life as portrayed yesterday, lived today, and dreamed tomorrow.
Read well; stay sharp; sell smart; market bigger; service better. Clean fresh, new ideas through our weekly Business Book Club picks. Join now.
By special invitation only, our book club readers are invited to a sneak preview of hot-off-the-press books. Actually these books aren’t even off the press yet! Every other week we’ll send an Advanced Reading Copy from a book not yet published. After all, you’re an insider!
Sit back, relax, listen, and enjoy a daily dose of well-read books from a veritable garden of selections. Every other week you’ll hear excerpts from fiction, nonfiction, self-help, business, and more.
Hand-picked just for our younger audience—gripping mysteries, wildly hilarious comedies, true adventures, mystical science fiction—you won’t believe the variety! And introducing special guest hosts—selected teens from all over the planet share their insights in your daily read.
There's even a Book Forum to contribute to...
Do you enjoy talking about books? If so, come on over to our book forum. Each week we post the books we are reading and hundreds of people share their comments.
